IntroductionUrban transport currently accounts for 21% of total national greenhouse gas emissions in Vietnam (according to the Report of the United Nations Development Programme - UNDP and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, 2023). At the same time, the demand for travel is expected to increase due to the urbanization rate reaching over 50% of the population living in urban areas by 2030 (according to Resolution 06-NQ/TW of the Politburo, 2022). To achieve the NetZero 2050 target that the Government committed to at COP 26 and specified in the National Strategy on Climate Change to 2050 (Decision 896/QD-TTg, 2022), converting transport to green energy and smart mobility systems is an urgent requirement and a driving force for sustainable development. The Seminar will bring advanced technology solutions, policies and business models to:
+ Reduce 5.9% of emissions from transport by 2030 (according to the updated Nationally Determined Contribution - NDC 2022, unconditional contribution).
+ Build a zero-emission mobility ecosystem in major cities such as Hanoi, HCM, Da Nang,...
+ Achieve 50% of urban transport using electricity and green energy by 2030 (according to Decision 876/QD-TTg, 2022)
Main contents to be discussed:
+ Green energy and sustainable mobility infrastructure towards NetZero 2050
+ AI and big data in optimizing smart mobility
+ Sustainable mobility model according to NetZero 2050 target
