Vietnam is entering a period of accelerating urban digital transformation, with the urbanization rate reaching nearly 42% in 2025 and expected to exceed 50% by 2030. At the same time, Taiwan is one of Asia's pioneering countries in building smart and green cities, with more than 200 localities applying technology in traffic, energy and environmental management. Currently, Taiwan is the 4th largest FDI investor in Vietnam, with a total capital of more than 39 billion USD, focusing on high technology, smart manufacturing and digital infrastructure - key areas in smart urban development.
The seminar “International Cooperation to build Smart Cities” at the Vietnam -Asia Smart City Summit 2025 will be a forum connecting management agencies, businesses and investors from both sides, sharing experiences, introducing advanced technologies and promoting cooperation to develop green, smart and sustainable cities. The Seminar will focus on the following contents:
+ Practical experience from Taiwan: Introducing typical smart city models such as Taipei Smart City, IoT and AI applications in traffic management, renewable energy and citizen services.
+ Bilateral cooperation opportunities: Promoting joint investment projects, technology transfer and digital infrastructure development - Net-Zero solutions, supporting Vietnam to achieve green urban goals according to Resolution 57.
+ Open discussion: Local government leaders, technology enterprises of the two countries and international experts exchange and propose specific action roadmaps, expand business connections and innovation.
